This day allows us to celebrate the many achievements of women, underscore the progress made toward sexual equality, and take stock of current concerns and issues. This is also an opportunity to openly discuss how some women’s rights once thought permanently established, such as abortion rights or labour rights, could be in jeopardy.
In 1922, exactly one century ago, women officially graduated from the University of Ottawa for the first time. Since then, the University has supported women and the projects and research they conduct to change the world their way. Women contribute significantly to the development of society and to the well-being of everyone.
