The end of the academic year is fast approaching and a plethora of exciting and interesting activities for uOttawa students can make for a great summer.
Go abroad
The University has a number of ways for you to tour the world. The CLIC program offers educational opportunities in China for Canadian students. The exchange program offers opportunities to spend a term abroad, and the PhD Teach Abroad program offers PhD candidates the opportunity to teach in a foreign country as an alternative to traditional TA positions. Opportunities are also offered by the faculties of Social Sciences and Medicine, and the Telfer School of Management, as well as through CO-OP, the Office of Undergraduate Research and the Michaëlle Jean Centre for Global and Community Engagement.
Participate in an exchange program
The Summer Exchange program provides opportunities for you to study part time in any of 14 countries across four continents.
Find a job on campus
The Work-Study Program allows students to work part time during the academic year and full time during the summer. It’s a great opportunity to gain valuable experience while earning some money to help you along the way to achieving your goals. Accepting applications until June 14.
Take courses
UOttawa offers over 700 courses during the summer to allow students to get ahead in meeting their degree requirements. While some courses run the full term, the term is also divided into four sub-sessions, with courses running from May 1 to July 23, May 1 to June 11, June 18 to July 27 or June 16 to August 27.
Discover special courses and research opportunities
The Human Rights Research and Education Centre will be offering the third edition of the Summer School on The Arts and Human Rights, focusing on Indigenous arts and culture. Additionally, the centre will be offering the 12th edition of the Summer School on International Humanitarian Law. Some faculties offer seminars, special courses and research opportunities on a range of topics during the summer, in addition to the rest of the year. Explore the Ottawa-Gatineau area
Ottawa and the Outaouais are always great places to be during summer. The city and surrounding areas have a variety of special events and festivals every week. Check out the Ottawa Tourism or Tourisme Outaouais websites to plan your itinerary of exciting events.
