uOttawa Discovery Day 2025

As in previous years, we expect to host each day around 150 to 200 high school students in grades 10 to 11 from over 20 schools in the Ottawa-Gatineau and surrounding areas.

To make this event a success, we’re looking for volunteers to lead workshops or participate in career panels.

Workshop Presentations (10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and/or 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.)

  • Coordinate a 90-minute interactive workshop that includes a brief (15min) presentation and an interactive and stimulating hands-on-activity (60min).
  • The 15min presentation should focus on sharing a brief description of your academic path leading to your current position and sharing other potential career options stemming from that path.
  • Workshops can take place at RGN, Peter Morand, 200 Lees, as well as at affiliated institute sites with approval.

Career Panel (2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.)

  • Each panelist will be invited to share their academic and professional journey in 5 minutes and be ready for a Q&A period to follow.
  • The panel will take place at RGN.

To volunteer and participate in the program please complete this form by Tuesday, March 18, 2025.
